Verbatim: Voice to Text

Effective July 17, 2026. Verbatim: Voice to Text is designed to be private by default. This policy explains what the app does — and, more importantly, what it does not do — with your information.

The short version

We do not collect, sell, share, or track any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. Your content is yours.

Your content

Verbatim: Voice to Text can sync your own content (the data you create in the app) to your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit, so it stays in step across your iPhone and iPad. This data lives in your iCloud account under your Apple ID — it is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, and we have no access to it. iCloud sync is optional; with it off, everything stays on your device.

Transcription happens entirely on your device (Apple's on-device speech engine) — your audio is never uploaded for transcription. Your recordings and transcripts sync privately through your own iCloud (your private CloudKit database); they are never sent to us or any third party. Verbatim has no account, no third-party servers, no analytics and no tracking. The microphone is used only while you are recording.

What we collect

Nothing. Verbatim: Voice to Text does not collect any data from you, and no data is transmitted to fnstudio. Because we collect nothing, there is nothing for us to sell, share, or hand over.

Permissions

Verbatim: Voice to Text only asks for a permission at the moment it is needed, and only for the feature you are using:

Microphone — only while you are recording, to capture the audio you transcribe.
Speech Recognition — used on-device to turn your recording into text; nothing is sent off your device for transcription.

Children's privacy

Verbatim: Voice to Text does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
